Terms

A plain-language summary of the terms for using Gathertell, written to match what the product actually does. Full terms of service will be published here before launch.

What Gathertell is

Gathertell is an app for keeping family memories — photos and videos with the voices of the people who lived them. It is currently pre-launch. This site lets you join the waitlist to be told when it is ready.

Joining the waitlist

By submitting your email you’re asking us to contact you once about the Gathertell launch. That’s the only thing joining the waitlist does. You can ask us to remove your email at any time by writing to hello@gathertell.com. See our Privacy page for how we handle it.

Your content stays yours

The photos, videos, and voice recordings you add to Gathertell belong to you. We store them so you and the family you invite can enjoy them; we don’t claim ownership of your memories. Recording someone requires their consent, which the app asks for as part of adding a new speaker.

Fair use

Please use Gathertell for your own family memories and only add recordings of people who have agreed to be recorded. Don’t use it to harass anyone, to upload content you don’t have the right to share, or to break the law.

Plans

Getting started is free and needs no credit card. The Free plan includes a set amount of storage (5 GB today); paid plans with more room and extra finishing touches will be offered later, and we’ll always tell you the details before you’re asked to pay.

Before launch

Because Gathertell is still pre-launch, this waitlist site is provided as-is, and details here may change as we finalize the product. The complete terms of service will be published here before Gathertell is generally available.
